Engineering Overview & Fluid Dynamics

Active contamination barrier and laminar downflow principles

The Himalayan Steel Dynamic Garment Storage Cubicle (DGC) is an active laminar flow storage station designed for pharmaceutical Grade B/C change rooms. Cleanroom garments that have been autoclaved or laundered can accumulate settling airborne particulates if hung in passive wardrobes. The DGC circulates filtered laminar air downward at 0.45 m/s across suspended suits and through perforated base shoe shelves, ensuring that cleanroom garments remain in pristine Class 100 condition ready for immediate donning.

Cleanroom Construction & Architectural Design

cGMP sanitary fabrication details from our Baddi engineering works

Sloped Roof Sanitary Design

Top of cabinet is built at a 30-degree sanitary slope, making it impossible for operators to place items on top and eliminating dust accumulation.

Captive Stainless Hanger Rail

Electropolished stainless steel rod fitted with welded spaced captive hangers to ensure cleanroom suits do not touch and block downflow air.

Perforated Air Extraction Floor

Heavy-duty perforated SS 304 base shelf allows downward laminar air to flow through shoe compartments before returning to side ducts.

Toughened Safety Glass Doors

Double-door design with flush-mounted toughened safety glass view windows and full-length continuous stainless piano hinges.

Magnetic Door Seals

Extruded silicone gasket with embedded magnetic strip ensures positive airtight closure against positive cabinet air pressure.

Low-Noise Centrifugal Fan Unit

Direct-drive dynamically balanced blower operates silently under 62 dB(A), keeping change room environments quiet.

Standard Operating Protocol (cGMP SOP)

Standard operating guidelines and contamination control sequence

SOP REFERENCE GUIDE
Objective
To establish operating and sanitization protocol for the Himalayan Steel Dynamic Garment Storage Cubicle.
Scope
Applies to all cleanroom garment storage in primary and secondary change rooms.
Responsibility
Change Room Attendants, Production Staff, and QA Hygiene Officers.

Step-by-Step Material Transfer Sequence

1
Verify the dynamic garment cubicle is running continuously (blowers should remain on 24/7 during operating weeks).
2
Check the Dwyer Magnehelic gauge; verify reading is within 8 to 16 mm WC.
3
Ensure the UV-C germicidal light is turned off before opening the cabinet doors.
4
Open the cabinet door; hang clean, autoclaved coverall suits on the individual captive hangers, spacing suits evenly.
5
Place cleanroom booties in the bottom perforated shoe compartments.
6
Close the doors firmly; the magnetic gasket will seal against the frame.
7
When retrieving garments for shift entry, open door smoothly, remove your assigned suit, and close the door immediately.

Sanitization & Wipe-Down Protocol

  • Wipe internal walls, hanger bars, and shoe racks weekly with 70% filtered IPA.
  • Clean viewing glass panels with non-streaking cleanroom glass cleaner.
  • Wash base pre-filters monthly in purified water.

Fail-Safe Interlock Protection

  • Automatic door microswitch turns off UV germicidal lamp immediately if door is opened.
  • Blower differential pressure alarm warns if HEPA filter becomes restricted.

Optional Engineering Customizations

Site-specific hardware adaptations

  • Digital UV timer with programmable night-time automated sterilization cycles
  • Individual numbered stainless key locks or RFID electronic badge card access
  • Stainless steel wire-mesh glove and hood storage baskets
  • HEPA filter differential pressure transmitter with BMS network connectivity
  • Stainless steel floor leveling pads or lockable polyurethane wheels

Quality Validation Package (DQ/IQ/OQ)

Audit-ready documentation for US FDA and EU-GMP inspections

  • Design Qualification (DQ) Documentation & CAD Drawings
  • Installation Qualification (IQ) Protocol Checklists
  • Operational Qualification (OQ) Velocity Distribution Protocol
  • DOP/PAO HEPA Filter Integrity Scan Test Certificate
  • Cleanliness Classification Certificate (ISO Class 5)
  • Material Test Certificate (EN 10204 3.1) for Stainless Steel

Cleanroom Design Highlights

  • Continuous sterile laminar downflow keeps laundered cleanroom suits dust-free
  • Sloped top design prevents dust accumulation on top of the cabinet in change rooms
  • UV-C germicidal light cycle decontaminates garment surfaces during off-shift hours
  • Bottom perforated shoe compartments allow downflow air to sweep through booties
